The 2010 tax credit for Energy Efficient appliances that was set to expire on December 31, 2010 has been extended…with some revisions.
The original tax credit had a maximum of $1,500 over the 2-year period (2009 & 2010) (or 30% of your purchase up to $5,000).
The revised tax credit has been reduced to 10%, up to $500. Here’s a brief summary of the incentives:
Windows: up to $200
Oil, Gas Furnace, Boiler: $150-$200 (must be 95% efficient)
Water Heater: $300
Wood Heating Systems: $300
Remember, improvements must be for your primary residence, not rentals.
