If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you’ll know that I LOVE the show Extreme Couponing on TLC. It blows my mind what these people do (and how much time they spend doing it!). Well last night there was an episode which featured a woman who said “see, there’s an advantage to a down market…” So why is that blog worthy?
This woman scours her neighborhood for foreclosured and/or vacant homes, so she can take their newspapers and the coupon insert to help her “hauls.” In addition to that, she also dumpster dives for thrown out coupons.
Here’s my advice for you couponing wannabes:
1. If you live in a condo community – you’ll likely have a recycle bin where people throw out circulars and other junk mail. If you’re an aspiring couponer, check the bin when you see one delivered.
2. Here’s a list of foreclosures on the market right nearby now if you want to try for their papers:
–Arlington Foreclosures
–Falls Church Foreclosures
–Alexandria Foreclosures
I’m not yet a couponer, but perhaps if I was one I’d have more advice…sadly, this is all I could come up with. Who else has some advice to share?
