One of the oldest neighborhoods in Arlington, the original Arlington VA Neighborhood Arlington Heights area included Barcroft, Clarendon, Alcova Heights, and the current area. The modern day neighborhood spans from Arlington Blvd to Columbia Pike, and S Glebe Rd to Walter Reed Drive (which is also S Fillmore Street). Home to the Columbia Pike Blues Festival, the County Fair, Thomas Jefferson Community Center, Charles Fenwick Center, Arlington Career Center, and Arlington Public Library—Columbia Pike Branch. Arlington Heights is also close to Butler Homes Park and Penrose Park. Most homes were built in the early to mid 1900s, however there are some newer townhomes and condos. There’s also an active Civic Association that has more information.
