September 2011 Brings Another 5% Increase in Arlington Real Estate Prices

Continuing with another strong month, average sale prices in Arlington in September were over 5% higher than this time last year. Of the 180 units sold, 6 were bank owned properties and 9 were short sales. Average days on the market is 64 throughout the county; inventory dropped 8.8% from 2010 and properties are selling for 95.7% of original list prices.

  1. That is great news about home prices in NOVA, but there has been an steady decrease in housing inventory over the past few months. Primarily because sellers are frustrated about how long it takes to sell their homes. The DC market is definitely more stable than other markets but it is a double-edged sword.
